Pennsylvanians have the opportunity to submit tips to state police on local investigations, well known cold cases and missing people with the launch of the PSP Tips form and social media pages on Thursday, March 28.

The form, located online at p3tips.com, can be used to submit anonymous tips on current investigations, the location of missing people and other information relevant to solving of cold cases in your area.

PSP Tips now exists on Facebook and X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The posts by the page often include photos of missing persons and suspects, the troop where the investigation is taking place and what investigators know so far.

Police recently posted requesting information on the Jan. 13, 2013, murder of Robert “Bob” Gaurrich of Evans City. The post states that police responded to Gaurrich’s business, Bob’s Truck & Auto Repair Inc., on Evans City Road around 11:19 p.m. that night and found him dead with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

“It is believed (Gaurrich) was shot while inside of his business and then attempted to flee his attacker(s) via the east main door,” the post read. “Missing from the scene was a 30/30 caliber rifle which was owned by the victim. The rifle was described as a Winchester Canadian Centennial 30-30 lever-action rifle.”

The post included more details about the alleged murder weapon and encouraged the public to submit any known information through the online tip form.

Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens, deputy commissioner of operations for state police, said public assistance is vital to solving cases.

“The social media platforms, the toll-free number and the online tip form are all easy ways to send us information that may solve a case or get a dangerous individual off the streets,” he said.

According to a news release, new cases will be added to the pages frequently.

“Your tip could provide investigators with a long-awaited breakthrough that will finally bring closure and justice for the victim’s families,” the news release read.

The cases on PSP Tips accounts can be seen on Facebook and X. Each site provides a toll-free phone number, 1-800-472-8477, and a link to an online tip submission form, p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=107.
