David Michael, 83, passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Butler and was the son of the late Charles and Frances (Sinz) Michael.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1958. He worked at Armco for more than 30 years. He could be found walking Main Street faithfully with his wife, Fran Michael, whom he married March 8, 1963. He enjoyed traveling. Some of his favorite places were Myrtle Beach and Bar Harbor, Maine. He was an active lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Butler.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fran Michael; two sons, Scott (Toni) Michael and Christopher Michael; a daughter, Sharon (Karl) Cheeks; three grandchildren, Lindsay (Richard Zedreck Jr.) Michael, Jeremy (Trinity) Michael and Tyler Michael; one great-grandchild, Kenton Michael; one brother, Bob (Judy) Michael; one sister, Florence “Sis” Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred (Rose) Michael and Thomas (Elizabeth) Michael; and one brother-in-law, Paul Thompson.

MICHAEL — Visitation for David Michael, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A service will immediately follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Joel Benson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.

A private burial will be held at Butler County Memorial Park.
