Pedestrian killed on Kittanning Street

Butler man struck twice near Portman Road

A 46-year-old male was killed Saturday evening, Feb. 10, after being struck twice by passing motorists while walking along Kittanning Street in Butler.

The incident was first reported at 8:11 p.m. Saturday, and took place near the corner of Kittanning Street and Portman Road. The initial dispatch reported a driver had struck an object on the road and wound up with glass in their mouth as a result of the collision. This was later reported to be a driver vs. pedestrian crash.

A helicopter was dispatched, along with ambulances from the Butler Ambulance Service, and the area was briefly closed as Butler Township police took over the scene. According to CBS Pittsburgh, the driver of the second car stopped and cooperated with police following the incident.

The Butler Township Police Department is investigating the crash.
