Sylvia Thompson
Sylvia J. Thompson, 85, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at Concordia at Cabot.
She was born March 7, 1938, in Greenville, daughter of the late Arthur and Wilda (Elliott) Foulk.
She was a lifelong member of Muddycreek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a trustee. Sylvia was an active member of the Cross and Crown Ladies Guild. She had worked as a waitress at Terrace Drive Inn, where she met her husband.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Charles) Smith of Butler; her son, Ronald E. (Cindy) Thompson of Allison Park; her grandchildren, Amber Thompson, Amy Thompson, Clayton (Kait) Smith, Haley Smith, Dannielle (Andrew) Dames and Emily (George) Sanko; six great-grandchildren, Norah and Nellie Foster, Hudson and Willow Smith and Juniper and Theo Dames; her sister, Doris Maitland of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle, who passed away April 30, 2016; two brothers; and an infant sister.
THOMPSON — Services for Sylvia J. Thompson, who died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Muddycreek EP Church, 341 Muddycreek Drive, Butler, with her pastor, Matt Kail, officiating.
Interment will be in the Muddycreek Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
