Wise

James “Jim” Wise, 72, of Sharpsville, passed away on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, after a long battle with an extended illness.

He was born in Sharon, Pa., on March 17, 1951, and was the son of the late James and Almira (Shrawder) Wise.

He spent the majority of his career as a truck driver. Jim was an extremely active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since Jan. 18, 1988, where helping others became his purpose. Through his selfless actions and words, he helped hundreds of others, and influenced thousands of people to improve and change their lives. He was known to put his life on hold to help someone by sharing his experience, strength and hope. He enjoyed fishing, camping and nature. James was loved by many and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his children, Michelle Razo, Jamie Wise, Summer Anderson and Jordan Jones; his siblings, Richard Root, Daisy Withers and Frances “Molly” Wise; his grandchildren, Jordan, Justine, Trent, Christian and Jaylee; several great-grandchildren; and his previous wife, Renee Doctor-Wise.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his previous wife, Sandy Radkowski-Domenick; and his siblings, Dan Root, Tom Root, Mary Patton, Arnim “Al” Root, Bill “Owen” Root, Beverly Powell-Lary, Welwyn Sipe and Karen Wellhausen.

WISE — Family and friends of James “Jim” Wise, who died Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
