Sentence court

The following defendants were sentenced Thursday, June 29 by Butler County Common Pleas Judge Kelley Streib.

Corey Allen Faas, 29, of Rimersburg, Clarion County, was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in the county prison, but will be paroled after nine months to serve nine months on house arrest, and pay $2,169 in restitution after pleading guilty to a felony charge of strangulation filed by state police following a Nov. 13, 2022, incident in Franklin Township. Of the restitution, $1,112 goes to the victim compensation board and $1,057 goes to the victim. In a separate case, Faas was sentenced concurrently serve 12 months of probation and pay a $50 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Kittanning state police following a Dec. 2, 2020, incident in Jackson Township.

Elijah James Claypoole, 23, of Butler, was sentenced to two concurrent terms of six to 18 months in prison followed by 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of theft by unlawful taking filed by Butler City police following a Feb. 24, 2022, incident and a felony charge of conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking filed by Butler Township police following a Dec. 2, 2021, incident. He was ordered to pay $2,018 in restitution to Cammisa’s Auto Body in Butler in the 2022 case.

Robert Charles Elliott Jr., 66, of Lyndora, was sentenced to three to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by Butler Township police following a Sept. 20, 2022, incident.

William Hart Barbary, 44, of Butler, was sentenced to 24 months of probation and a $25 fine after pleading guilty to recklessly endangering another person and careless driving charges filed by Middlesex Township police following an Aug. 4, 2022, incident.

Colby John McClelland, 25, of East Butler, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, including 105 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,000 and complete 40 hours of community service, a victim-impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his first and second driving under the influence offenses filed by state police. The first offense occurred Jan. 28, 2021, in Summit Township, and second offense occurred Sept. 25, 2022, in Oakland Township, according to court documents.

Janina Louise Carrigan, 28, of New Kensington, Westmoreland County, was sentenced to serve 24 months probation and pay restitution of $2,700 to Home Depot and $240 to Walmart after pleading guilty to four charges of conspiracy to commit retail theft and four charges of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Nov. 20, 2021, incident.

James Herman Matson, 68, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation, including 60 days of house arrest, pay a $750 fine and complete 40 hours of community service and a victim-impact panel after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a July 30, 2022, incident in Center Township.

Lee E. Oviatt, 37, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve six months of probation, including 10 days of house arrest, pay a $50 fine, complete litter pickup and a victim- impact panel and pay $1,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to a DUI charge filed by state police following a Sept. 13, 2022, incident, in Brady Township.

Brandy Marie Kimberly, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to 12 months of probation, including six months of house arrest, after pleading guilty to a retail theft charge filed by Butler City police following a May 25, 2022, incident.

Dana Lewis Haynes, 60, of Sharon, Mercer County, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation and pay fines totaling $400 after pleading guilty to recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest charges filed by Butler City police following an Oct. 4, 2022, incident.

Caleb Scott Borland, 20, of Lyndora, was sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a retail theft charge filed by Butler Township police following a July 15, 2021, incident.

James M. Shoup III, 59, of Butler, was sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by Butler City police following a Dec. 18, 2022, incident.

Sean Matthew Tollan Sr., 42, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay $25 in restitution to Walmart after pleading guilty to a charge of criminal attempt to commit retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following an Aug. 22, 2022, incident.

Nicole Elizabeth Brown, 39, of West Sunbury, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation, including six months of house arrest, and pay $38 in restitution to Giant Eagle after pleading guilty to a retail theft charge filed by state police following a Sept. 19, 2022, incident, in Center Township.

Brad Michael Galletta, 37, of Mount Oliver, Allegheny County, was sentenced to concurrently serve six to 23 months in prison, but immediately was paroled to the Renewal program for substance abuse treatment in Allegheny County and ordered to pay $1,972 in restitution after pleading guilty to two counts of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following incidents on Sept. 11, 2021 and April 9, 2021.

Robert Trey Brown, 35, of Evans City, was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation including 15 months of house arrest, pay fines totaling $4,000 and complete a victim impact panel after pleading guilty or no contest to his second and third DUI offenses and a charge of resisting arrest. Jackson Township police filed the DUI charges following incidents on Jan. 21 and July 22 2020, and filed the resisting arrest charge following a Sept. 9, 2020, incident.

Lacey Lynn Vanwormer, 37, of Franklin, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $300 after pleading guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct filed by Butler Township police following a May 18, 2021, incident.

Stephen Patrick Vine, 30, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 36 moths probation and pay $1,700 in restitution after pleading guilty to five counts of retail theft and two counts of conspiracy to commit retail theft in three cases filed by Cranberry and Butler township police following incidents in October and December of 2022.
