Police find 71 bags of fentanyl during traffic stop, Butler woman charged

A Butler woman initially pulled over for a traffic stop was charged after state police said they discovered 71 bags of fentanyl in her vehicle.

Anna M. Beebe, 40, was charged Tuesday, May 9, with two counts each of misdemeanor driving under the influence and use and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection to the Feb. 6 incident.

At 1:36 a.m., police said they initiated a traffic stop on Brown Avenue in the city and found Beebe, who told police she did not have a valid drivers license, at the wheel.

Officers described Beebe as “extremely nervous” in the affidavit. During a pat down, police said several empty stamp bags were found on her person.

Field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, police said. A later test showed Beebe’s blood contained traces of cocaine, fentanyl and xylazine.

Beebe told police she did not have any other paraphernalia beside syringes and consented to a vehicle search.

Several empty stamp bags and 71 bags of fentanyl, which were later lab tested, were found in the vehicle, according to the affidavit.

Beebe’s preliminary hearing is scheduled June 5.
