Grove City College will showcase the artistic talents of students from three local schools in the gallery of the Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.

The inaugural Area High School Exhibit runs through Dec. 13. The gallery show features artwork created by students from Grove City Area High School, Grove City Christian Academy and Mercer Area High School.

“This is a great way for the college to connect with our community and highlight the great talents of our area high-schoolers as they start to think about colleges. We hope to make this show an annual event at the Pew Gallery,” said Hilary Walczak, director of College Archives and Galleries.

The gallery is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Gianna Talento

Seneca Valley High School graduate Gianna Talento has been selected by Point Park University as a member of the inaugural cohort of Bonner Leaders.

The Bonner Leader program provides up to 10 incoming students an opportunity for service, scholarship, and professional development through community-based work.

Each Bonner Leader is granted a $3,000 annual award, as well as paid travel opportunities for service learning and conference attendance intended to provide access to education and the opportunity to serve. Through federal work study funding, students in the program are assigned to a local nonprofit organization rather than an on-campus job.

Gianna is a 2022 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and is majoring in marketing in the Rowland School of Business at Point Park University. Her community partner is the Foundation of Hope, which empowers people impacted by the criminal justice system to renew their faith, rebuild their lives, and restore positive relationships.
