Sentence Court

The following defendants were sentenced Thursday in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Timothy McCune:

Justin Joshua Sipe, 24, of Tarentum, was sentenced to serve 12 months to 60 months in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges of firearms not to be carried without a license and flight to avoid apprehension and a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance filed by Evans City Seven Fields Regional Police following a Feb. 25, 2021, incident when a gun was found in a vehicle he was driving and he fled on foot from a traffic stop. He was given credit for 482 days already served in prison. He was fined $2,500 and ordered to complete litter pickup and a victim impact panel. Other charges were dismissed.

John Allen Snyder, 57, of Cherry Valley, was sentenced to serve a combined nine months to 23 months and 29 days in prison after he was found guilty in a nonjury trial of charges filed in two cases by state police from two incidents in September 2020 when he threatened loggers working at a site off Dean Road in Venango Township. He was consecutively sentenced to serve three months to 11 months and 29 days for a misdemeanor charge of terroristic threats and six to 12 months for a felony charge of criminal mischief followed by a combined 12 months of probation for misdemeanor charges of stalking and defiant trespass. He also was ordered to pay $600 in fines and $21,692 in restitution. He was given no further penalty on two charges and found not guilty of another charge.

Timothy Robert Kruth, 62, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve 15 to 30 months in prison but was immediately paroled to serve 15 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of making a materially false written statement for the purchase or transfer of a firearm filed by state police following an incident on Sept. 18, 2021.

Eugene Joseph Smith III, 53, of Wampum, was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months and 15 days in prison but was immediately paroled to serve nine months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of possession of heroin with intent to deliver filed by county detectives following a Sept. 8, 2016, incident.

Jessica Lynn Cartwright, 42, of Chicora, was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation, 14 days of house arrest and pay fines totaling $1,100 and $170.33 in restitution after pleading no contest to charges of harassment, retail theft and DUI and recklessly endangering another person in three cases. Her sentence in the DUI case included completing 100 hours of community service, alcohol highway safety school, litter pickup and a victim impact panel. State police filed the DUI charge follwoing a Dec. 23, 2020, incident and the harassment charge following a July 17, 2020, incident. Cranberry Township police filed the retail theft charge following a Dec. 1, 2020, incident.

Jessica D. Webb, 34, of Carnegie, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of identity theft filed by Jackson Township police following a Feb. 11, 2020, incident.

Jeffery R. Coates, 35 of Zelienople, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including nine months of house arrest after pleading guilty to charges in three cases. He pleaded guilty to his second DUI offense, fleeing police and driving with a suspended license filed by state police following a Nov. 3, 2021, incident. For that case, he was ordered to pay fines totaling $4,000 and complete 150 hours of community service, litter pick-up, alcohol highway safety school and a victim impact panel. Other charges were dismissed. In a second case, he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Jackson Township police following an Oct. 14, 2021 incident. In a third case, he pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed by Cranberry Township police following a Dec. 17, 2020 incident.

Arica Lynnlee Davis, 34, of Masury, Ohio, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation and 20 hours of community service after pleading guilty to charges of loitering and possession of a controlled substance filed by state police following a June 22, 2021, incident.

James Andrew Ealy, 27, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a DUI charge filed by state police following a Sept. 11, 2021, incident.

Ryan Alexander Glagola, 30, of Butler, was sentenced to pay $500 in fines after pleading guilty to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license filed by state police following a March 19, 2021, incident.

George Ross Hammond Jr., 64, of Cranberry Township, was sentenced to serve three to 18 months in prison but was immediately paroled and placed on probation after pleading guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property filed by Cranberry Township police following a Nov., 23, 2021, incident.

Samuel Jacob Hernandez, 41, of Valencia, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation, pay $1,100 in fines and complete alcohol highway safety school, 50 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to charges of DUI, criminal mischief and accidents involving damage filed by Middlesex Township police following a Dec. 30, 2021, incident.

Cole Michael Bergbigler, 23, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including seven days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a July 16, 2020, incident.

Samuel Aaron Bellis, 56, of Allison Park, was sentenced to serve 66 months of probation including 93 days of house arrest after pleading guilty to charges in three cases filed by state police including two DUI cases and a theft case. For the first DUI, filed following a Feb. 27, 2021, incident, he was sentenced to six months of probation including three days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete 25 house of community service, alcohol highway safety school and a victim impact panel. Other charges were dismissed, In his second DUI, filed following a July 6, 2021, incident, he also pleaded guilty to a charge of driving with a suspended license and was sentenced to consecutively serve 60 months of probation including 90 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,500 and ordered to complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and litter pickup. Other charges were dismissed. In the third case, he was sentenced to concurrently serve 36 months of probation including 120 days of house arrest after pleading guilty to a charge of terroristic threats filed following a July 22, 2021, incident.

Kristin Lynn Melton, 34 of Mingo Junction, Ohio, was sentenced to serve 18 months of probation, complete 30 hours of community service and pay $35.36 in restitution to Walmart after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit retail theft and retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Jan. 4, 2020, incident.

Christopher Michael Miller, 35, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $175 after pleading guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and driving an uninspected vehicle filed following a Sept. 5, 2020, incident and pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct filed following a June 25, 2021 incident. State police filed charges in both cases.

Diane Marie Pietrala, 36, of Allison Park, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and complete 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a charge of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following an April 10, 2021, incident.

Jesse Tyler Noble, 26, of Murrysville, was sentenced to serve 24 months probation, complete 50 hours of community service and pay $581 in restitution to Walmart and $581 n restitution to Home Depot after pleading guilty to two charges of retail theft and one charge of conspiracy to commit retail theft filed in three cases by state police in June and July last year.

Angela Nichole Stietenroth, 20, of Butler, was sentenced to concurrently serve 72 hours to six months in prison and nine months of probation, pay fines totaling $1,200 and pay $75 in restitution after pleading guilty to charges of DUI of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license, and to a charge of theft filed by state police following separate incidents on July 12, 2020. Other charges were dismissed.

Christopher Allen Wagget, 44, of Butler, was sentenced to serve three to 18 months in prison but was immediately paroled to serve six months of probation, complete an anger management program and have no contact with the victim after he pleaded guilty to a charge of strangulation filed by state police following a Dec. 29, 2019, incident.

Melissa Marie Ofchinick, 47, of Coraopolis, was sentenced to serve two concurrent terms of 12 months probation after pleading guilty to two charges of simple assault filed by Butler City police following incidents on Nov. 16, 2021, and Jan. 6.

Antione A. Wise, 46, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to serve 21 to 42 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to serve 21 months of house arrest after pleading guilty to a charge of making materially false written statements for the purchase or transfer of a firearm filed by state police following a March 30, 2020, incident.

Robert John Jennings, 28, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of theft by deception filed by Cranberry Township police following a Dec. 31, 2020, incident.

Chad Arthur Zinkhann, 46, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay a $2,500 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense filed by Butler Township police following a Dec. 29, 2020, incident.

James Joseph Kelly, 33, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service, a victim impact panel and litter pickup after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a Nov. 28, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Larry M. Krestal, 54, of Freedom, was sentenced to serve six to 23 1/2 months in prison but was immediately paroled and placed on probation, and pay a $100 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of retail theft filed by Evans City Seven Fields Regional police following a July 30, 2021, incident.

David Steven Lattanzio, 57, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation including six months of house arrest and pay fines totaling $250 after pleading to two counts of statements under penalty filed by state police following incidents in July 16, 2020, and Nov. 11, 2020.

Krystal Marie Miller, 33, of Donora, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and 10 hours of community service after pleading no contest to a charge of possession of a controlled substance filed by state police following a June 24, 2020, incident.

Brandon Albert Dolan, 26, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation, complete 20 hours of community service and pay $629 in restitution after pleading guilty to a charge of receiving stolen property filed by state police following a Dec. 6, 2021, incident.

Cindy Lou Schroder, 56, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $125 after pleading guilty to charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness filed by state police following an Aug. 3, 2021, incident.

Jonathan Bradley Ziegler, 44, of Zelienople, was sentenced to serve three to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to probation, and 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance filed by state police following a Dec. 2, 2020, incident.
