WPIAL track playoffs set

Several Butler County track and field teams will be involved in the WPIAL team playoffs, which begin Tuesday. All meets begin at 3 p.m.

Class 3A

Butler's boys and girls teams will host Blackhawk and Franklin Regional.

Knoch's girls will join Mt. Lebanon and Laurel Highlands in traveling to South Fayette.

Class 2A

North Catholic's boys, New Brighton, Deer Lakes and Carlynton will travel to Riverside.

North Catholic's girls will also be in action at Riverside, along with Carlynton and Eden Christian Academy.

BC3 golf remains

unbeaten on year

Troy Loughry earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 69 Friday as the Butler County Community College golf team improved to 4-0 with a 299-359 win over Westmoreland CCC at North Park.

Other scores for the Pioneers included Liam Kosior with a 72, Freeport graduate Jack Mason a 76, Collin Witouski an 82, Tanner Hohmann a 95 and Freeport graduate Sarah Fischer a 106.

Butler’s Bresnahan

gets win on track

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Butler resident Nathan Bresnahan trained Dancin Rebel, a winner in an $8,400 Claiming Handicap Pace Saturday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The 8-year-old gelding lifted his career earnings to $206,430.
