Harry R. Thomas Sr., 85, of Bradys Bend died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at his home.
Born Dec. 20, 1936, in Butler, he was the son of Harry R. and Martha (Gilbert) Thomas.
On Aug. 16, 1984, Harry married the former Sherry R. Hillwig and she survives.Harry was employed for over 30 years by the VA Healthcare system in Butler.A U.S. Navy veteran, Harry served as a boilerman third class on the USS Randolph.He was a member of the American Legion Post 488, and the East Butler Fire Hall.Harry enjoyed hunting, working on cars, and spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherry R. Thomas of Bradys Bend; his children, Harry Thomas Jr., Shane (Beth) Ozella and Nicky (Jeff) Slowinski; his siblings, James Thomas and Sarah (Don) Bortmas; and his caregiver and brother-in-law, Terry Hillwig.He is also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa, Trista, Dan, Brittany and Colt; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Alex, Ava and Jace; and many nieces and nephews.Harry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Fred and Don; two sisters, Janet and Mabel; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy.THOMAS — Friends of Harry R.
