Rockets cruise, 56-13
Slippery Rock defeated Girard 56-13 on the road in high school football action Friday night.
Filling in for usual starter William Mokel, sophomore Eli Anderson passed for five touchdowns in his second career start.
Colton Glass, John Sabo, Walker Just, and Aidan Corace each pulled in scoring receptions, as did Ryan Montgomery, who also punched the football in from a yard out to break the ice for the Rockets.
Both Maddox Allen and Andrew Massella also ran for touchdowns for the Rockets (6-1).
Redbank Valley 28, Union/A-C Valley 6 — The Falcon Knights saw their 6-game winning streak come to an end with this loss to the Bulldogs in Rimersburg.
Union/ACV's lone score of the game, a 17-yard fumble return by Mikey Card, brought the team to within 8-6 with just over eight minutes left in the third quarter.
The Falcon Knights struggled on offense, with the Bulldogs intercepting Bailey Crissman five times.
Card and Dawson Camper, normally a formidable duo on the ground, were held to a combined 48 yards on 18 carries.
The win was the eighth straight for Redbank Valley (4-1, 8-1).
Union/ACV (2-2, 6-2) closes the regular season by hosting Coudersport next Friday.

Girls Volleyball
Emma Johns had 15 assists, seven digs and six kills while Ashley Fox had 17 digs and 12 kills in Karns City's 3-2 win over Slippery Rock.
Match scores were 21-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8.
Natalie Hess had 11 kills, Rosie Carden 16 assists, nine digs and nine kills, Amber Maurer four kills and five digs, Ava Fox 16 digs, five aces and five kills.
