Fightin’ Planet fighting for best mascot in America
Mars High School’s Fightin’ Planet is making a deep run in the 2026 National High School Mascot brackets.
The No. 14-seeded Fightin’ Planet are seeking votes to beat the No. 8-seeded Willingboro Chimeras (New Jersey) and advance to the national championship. Four mascots remain in the competition.
The Planet have so far defeated the Yuma Criminals (Arizona) in the Elite Eight round of the competition, the Bonanza Antlers (Oregon) in the Sweet 16, the Johnson Atom Smashers (Georgia) in the second round and the Poca Dots (West Virginia) in the first round.

As of Wednesday evening, April 22, the Planet had 77,678 votes, or 80.34% of the total cast, and the Chimeras had 19,003 votes, or 19.66% of the total.
