32 new COVID-19 cases reported in the county

The 32 new cases of COVID-19 reported Thursday in the county are among 3,322 new cases reported statewide by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The new cases raise the county total to 10,619 and the state total to 1,146,398 since the beginning of the pandemic. About 27,653 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.

Of the 2,447 people hospitalized with COVID-19, 539 are in intensive care. The 14-day average number of people hospitalized per day is about 3,400 lower than it was at the peak of the pandemic in December 2020 and below what it was at the height of the spring peak in May 2020.

The 50 new deaths in the state brings the total to 26,179. No new deaths were reported in the county.

In nursing and personal care homes, 70,669 residents and 14,781 employees have COVID-19. Of the deaths in the state, 13,103 have been among residents of nursing or personal care facilities.

The department also said 3,349,820 people are fully vaccinated, and an average of more than 93,200 people are getting vaccinated daily.

A total of 8,330,129 doses have been administered, including 5,257,583 first and single doses and 3,072,546 second doses.

In the county, 21,864 people are partially vaccinated and 62,303 people are fully vaccinated.

The Butler Health System said all residents age 16 and older can get vaccinations, and should do so because the coronavirus continues to spread in the community. Appointments can be made at butlerhealthsystem.org. Walk-ins are being accepted at BHS vaccine clinics at the Clearview Mall and Clarion Hospital.
