Coronavirus cases, hospitalizations up

County has 22 new cases, 2 deaths

Pennsylvania's fluctuating rate of recovery from COVID-19 fell slightly Tuesday, as the number of cases and hospitalizations continue to slowly increase.

The state's recovery rate dipped from 91% to 90% while the number of new cases reached 4,255, and the number of people hospitalized reached 2,247, including 427 patients in intensive care, according to the state Department of Health.

The new cases increased the statewide total to 1,049,655 since the beginning of the pandemic. About 26,658 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.

The 37 new deaths in the state bring the total to 25,237 since the pandemic began.

In the county, 22 new cases reported Tuesday increase the total number of cases to 9,904, and two new deaths bring the total to 388 since the pandemic began.
