Butler man accused of sex assault of 15-year-old girl
A Butler man is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl last year at his house.
Butler police allege Marc A. Pippens Sr., 46, had sex with the girl without her consent Nov. 18 at his then-home on Brown Avenue.
District Judge William Fullerton arraigned Pippens on felony charges of sexual assault, and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault by forcible compulsion, indecent assault without consent and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old. He is free on nonmonetary bond.
Butler County detectives notified police Nov. 1 after they learned of a ChildLine report involving the sexual assault of a child, investigators said.
The girl underwent a forensic interview Nov. 18, and she recounted what happened, police said. She told the interviewer that she was in a house in Butler, sometime between Oct. 18 and 20, when Pippens forcefully grabbed her by the arm.
The two went to the basement, where he assaulted her, she said. The girl told authorities that she did not want to have sex with Pippens.
On Thursday, police obtained an arrest warrant for Pippens. State police arrested him on that warrant Saturday night.
His preliminary hearing is set March 23. Online court records did not list an attorney for him, and he could not be reached for comment.
