School districts get security grants
Two Butler County school districts received shares of $53.7 million in safety and security grants awarded statewide, according to state Rep. Lee James, R-64th.
The Karns City Area School District and Moniteau School District each will receive $35,000 grants, he said.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee awarded the grants Wednesday, James said.
“This funding will play a critical role in addressing safety concerns so our students are better protected from a whole host of threats during their time at school. It will help them better focus on their studies and give their parents greater confidence. I am thankful to see this funding being used for such an important task,” James said.
