State police called todomestic dispute
A Center Township man stands accused in a weekend domestic dispute involving a gun at his home.
State police said they got the call around 11:55 p.m. Saturday and surrounded the home. Troopers eventually convinced 53-year-old Christopher L. Bole to discard a pistol and give himself up, authorities said.
Police took Bole into custody and no injuries were reported. On Monday, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for him on a felony charge of persons not to possess firearms.
Additionally, Bole is charged with two counts each of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.
When troopers got to the home, the defendant was inside with three other people police identified as his girlfriend, mother and brother.
Police said they made telephone contact with Bole's girlfriend inside the house and told her and the others to come out. The three exited and police spoke to them.
Bole's girlfriend and mother told troopers he had a gun, police said. The women further recounted that at one point Bole pointed the gun at both of them and “did threaten to shoot them,” according to charging documents.
During the incident, according to police, the defendant told troopers he was armed and threatened to shoot himself.
Cpl. Tim Morando said members of the state police Special Emergency Response Team were called to the incident, but were never deployed,
Police subsequently were able to talk Bole into throwing the gun onto the porch and surrendering.
In the criminal complaint, police noted that under state law Bole has a previous conviction that prohibits him from possessing any firearms.
Bole's arraignment on charges is pending.
