S. Butler school district receives Dollar General literacy grant
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded one local district a $2,000 grant.
South Butler County School District was the only district in Butler County to receive the grant, which was among a total of $85,000 awarded by the foundation in Pennsylvania.
Dollar General awarded $2.8 million in grants in the 44 states with stores. Districts that apply for the grants must be within a 20-mile radius of a Dollar General store.
The grant is meant to help students and educators reach their literacy goals during the 2019-20 school year.
