New county assessor welcomed

The new county assessor, Amy Francis, attended her first county commissioners meeting Wednesday.

Leslie Osche, commissioners chairwoman, introduced Francis.

Francis was the chief assessor for Erie County before taking the job in Butler County, which was vacated in July upon the retirement of Chris Savage after 33 years as a county employee.

Francis said she started as a clerk in the assessor's office at the Erie County Courthouse before working her way up to GS coordinator and appraiser before landing the chief assessor job.

“Everything we were doing in Erie, Butler is looking to do,” Francis said.

She said she will close on a house in the county in the near future.

“Thank you for all the warm welcomes and everything you have done,” Francis said to the commissioners and her county coworkers at the meeting.
