Small business adviser honored
Corry Riley, a Clarion University Small Business Development Center consultant, has been named the 2019 State Star by the state Small Business Development Center.
Riley was chosen as a result of his “extraordinary contributions to businesses in the northwest, north central and southwest regions,” said Sonya Smith, the PASBDC state director.
Riley, a Clarion SBDC consultant since 2005, serves clients at the university office and their outreach locations in Cameron, Clearfield and Potter counties.
He provides free, confidential business consulting to current and prospective small business owners, including assistance with research, marketing, employee handbooks, accounting software and general management.
Riley earned his bachelor’s degree from Clarion University in 2004 and his master’s degree in 2005. He is a resident of Brookville, Jefferson County.
Clarion University SBDC serves Armstrong, Cameron, Clarion, Clearfield, Elk, Forest, Jefferson, McKean, Potter and Venango counties.
