Two new primary care doctors are joining the Butler Health System, one whose office extends the southern reaches of the hospital group.

In Valencia, the UPMC office of Jerome Scherer became a BHS office earlier this month when Scherer joined the Butler-based organization, according to a news release.

Scherer’s office is the only BHS office in the 16059 ZIP code, according to the group’s website.

As of Aug. 1, Scott Matthew Nellis is joining BHS as a new doctor. He’ll see patients at 217 E. Main St. in Evans City.

Scherer attended West Virginia University for his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. His Valencia office is at 1158 Pittsburgh Road.

Nellis attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Both doctors are taking new patients.
