Two safes stolen from Butler Twp. car wash

BUTLER TWP — Police said they have no suspects in last week’s burglary at a car wash during which two safes with money were stolen.

The break-in occurred around 6 a.m. July 11 at C&S Wonder Wash on Route 8 north. Investigators believe there could be more than one person involved. A vehicle also might have been used in the crime.

A rock was used, police said, to smash a glass door at the rear of the building. Once inside, the burglar smashed another window to get into a front office.

Taken were two steel safes, each measuring about 2 feet by 2 feet, said police Lt. Matthew Pearson. He would not disclose how much money was believed to be inside the safes.

Police also declined to say if they have surveillance video of the crime.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the car wash at the time of the burglary is asked to call police at 724-285-9600 or 911.
