Warrant out in SUV theft case

CLEARFIELD TWP — A Parker man is wanted on a felony arrest warrant in connection with the theft of a sport utility vehicle from a township bar last month.

State police later found the 2013 Ford Escape reported stolen by its owner crashed nearly 10 miles away.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton issued the warrant Thursday for 23-year-old Noah J. Maihle on felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said Maihle was seen about 1:20 a.m. May 19 leaving the County Line Tavern on County Line Road in Clearfield Township and entering the driver's side of the SUV.

The vehicle, owned by a 22-year-old Karns City man, was parked in the bar's parking lot.

“Maihle then started the vehicle and drove it out of the bar's parking lot and onto County Line (Road),” according to charging documents.

About 10 hours later, police said, the vehicle turned up “crashed and abandoned” on the 400 block of Bicker Road in Winfield Township.

Investigators noted in documents that Maihle did not have the owner's permission to enter or drive the vehicle, which was valued at $10,000.
