Jaxon Salata scored the winning goal with less than three minutes to play as the Butler Middle School hockey team defeated Kiski, 3-2, in the first round of the playoffs.

Brayden Povlick and Aaron Shoup scored the other Golden Tornado goals. Povlick, Landon Romett, Ron Kuczynski and Andrew Roskovski had assists for Butler.

Winning goaltender EJ Delaney made 24 saves. Butler will play Fox Chapel at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Nevin Arena in Greensburg.
