Westinghouse HQ property for sale in Cranberry

CRANBERRY TWP — The owner of Westinghouse Electric's headquarters campus has put the property up for sale, although township officials said they do not believe Westinghouse has any plans to relocate.

Columbia Property Trusts has owned the property since 2010 when Westinghouse first moved to the township from Monroeville.

Columbia has since decided to sell the property as part of a strategy to offload properties not in the company's target markets of New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco, and to reinvest the proceeds in those areas, according to a quarterly earnings call earlier this month.

Columbia hopes to bring in around $600 million from the combined sales of the Cranberry Township campus and two other properties in Atlanta.

The campus property features 824,000 rentable square feet and two large office buildings on Cranberry Woods Drive off Route 228.

No asking price has been listed for the property, which is being marketed as “Cranberry Campus,” and township manager Jerry Andree said talks have begun with companies interested in purchasing the property.

Andree said he does not believe that Westinghouse has plans to leave the area and does not anticipate much of an impact on the area, saying the property is simply changing hands.
