Felony drug suspect turns herself in

Jamel Barnes

CHICORA — A Concord Township woman Thursday turned herself in on felony drug charges, three weeks after authorities say they seized nearly half a pound of suspected cocaine, a stolen pistol and nearly $10,000 from her rental home.

Ashley L. Pisor, 27, was arraigned by District Judge Lewis Stoughton of Chicora, and later released after posting $30,000 bail.

Pisor's live-in boyfriend, Jamel A. Barnes, 28, has been in Butler County Prison since July 11, when state parole agents reportedly discovered the cache of drugs and other evidence during a routine compliance visit at the couple's Route 38 home.

County Detective Tim Fennell, who heads the Butler County Drug Task Force and filed the charges against both defendants, said Barnes is under supervision by the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole for a 2017 drug trafficking conviction in Ohio.

The agents searched the home and found a grocery-type bag hidden in the chimney cleanout.

The grocery bag held four plastic baggies that contained a combined 112 grams of suspected crack cocaine, Fennell said, and three other plastic baggies with a total of 84 grams of suspected powered cocaine.

The search also yielded a Smith & Wesson .40-caliber pistol, according to court documents, that was stashed behind the dresser in a bedroom. A magazine with six rounds was loaded in the gun.The pistol was reported stolen on Nov. 30, 2017. Fennell said it was taken from a car at a home in Oakland Township.Barnes' prior drug trafficking conviction, Fennell noted, prohibits him from possessing any firearms under state law.During the search $9,220 in currency was also seized. Of that amount, authorities said, $7,025 was found in a rental car at the house.Pisor and Barnes are both charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of receiving stolen property, all felonies. They are also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Barnes is charged with illegal possession of a firearm, a felony.Pisor's preliminary hearing is set Aug. 14. Barnes, who is jailed on $100,000 bail in the case, has his hearing scheduled Aug. 28.
