GC stays unbeaten with win
GROVE CITY — Brayden Martin scored 24 points Saturday as the Grove City High School boys basketball team remained unbeaten with a 71-61 win over Youngstown East.
The Eagles (5-0, 1-0) took a 50-48 lead into the fourth quarter before scoring 21 points in the final frame to put the game away.
Marcos Cintron added 17 points for Grove City with Martin Beatty netting 13. Williams paced three East (4-2) players in double figures with 15.
Danny Timko scored 14 points, Spencer Pokrant 13 and David Dennis 10 to lead the Grove City junior varsity to a 54-49 win.
The Eagles return to action Thursday in the Conneaut Christmas Tournament, facing Sharpsville.
