SV school board re-elects president
JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley School Board reorganized Monday night, swearing in a member who is a familiar face on the board.
Jim Nickel was re-elected to serve as school board president in 2018.
“I am thrilled and honored to continue representation of the district into the future,” Nickel said.
This is Nickel's second year as board president. He has been on the board since 2011.
Eric DiTullio was re-elected as vice president.
Incumbents DiTullio, Leslie Bredl, Fred Peterson, Tim Hester and newcomer Jeff Widdowson also were sworn in. Widdowson replaced James Welsh representing Region 9, which includes Harmony, Callery and Jackson.
This is not Widdowson's first time on the board. The Jackson resident was previously on the board for 11 years with his last term ending in 2009.
He heard about a seat being open in his region and decided to run again.
“It's to give back to the community,” Widdowson said. “The community has been very good to me.”
