Ex-boyfriend starts altercation at party

Alex Dorenkamp

DONEGAL TWP — A teenager faces a hearing next week on charges he left another man with a broken face after an altercation at a party in October.

State police Thursday arrested Alex J. Dorenkamp, 19, of Oakland Township on felony assault and other charges. He is free on $30,000 bail.

Dorenkamp is accused of attacking Bradley Esper about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 13, at a home on the 700 block of Game Reserve Road in Donegal Township.

Police spoke to Esper on Oct. 14 in the emergency room of Butler Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for injuries including “multiple facial fractures and a concussion,” according to court documents.

Esper told investigators that he was drinking and “hanging out” at the party with Dorenkamp's ex-girlfriend when Dorenkamp showed up on his motorcycle.

Esper, police said, recounted that Dorenkamp started the alteration and hit him in the face. He said he was knocked to the ground and “blacked out.”

Police said that along with the broken bones and concussion, Esper had several cuts as well as bruises and swelling on both sides of his face.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Dorenkamp on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 12 at Stoughton's office in Chicora.
