ADAMS TWP — Mars High School closed Monday after a bomb threat was discovered in the boys’ restroom.

The school evacuated and staff contacted Adams Township police officers who are taking steps to ensure the safety of students and staff, according to a letter from Superintendent Wesley Shipley to parents.

Students were evacuated to the Mars Middle School where they were released to parents. Monday evening activities at the high school were canceled, and the school was to reopen Tuesday morning.

Adams police and Mars school officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
