A Butler woman charged with child endangerment, retail theft and weapons possession in three different cases was sentenced to time served in Butler County Court on Thursday.

Amanda J. McCune, 23, was sentenced to three to six months in Butler County Prison and 18 months probation by Judge Timothy McCune. She was given credit for time previously spent in the county jail, as well as inpatient rehabilitation, and was immediately paroled.

She was also ordered to complete 15 hours of community service and to pay court costs, $200 in fines, and restitution.

McCune previously pleaded guilty to felony retail theft, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor possession of a weapon in court facility on Aug. 9.

The felony retail theft charge stems from an incident at Family Dollar at Pullman Square, Butler, on Sept. 29. 2016, where Butler City police said she stole two cans of air conditioning recharger, a deadbolt lock and two packages of air freshener, valued at $76.32.

The child endangerment charge stems from an incident on March 20, 2016, on St. Paul Street in Butler, where city police said she overdosed on heroin and was revived with naloxone, while caring for her 1-year-old child.

Police said she was found unresponsive on the floor of a child's bedroom when emergency crews got to her apartment. Empty stamp bags of heroin were found next to a trash can in the bathroom, and inside the can was another stamp bag and a drug-cooking spoon, police said.

McCune eventually regained consciousness and “admitted using heroin with several friends while (her baby) was in her care and custody,” according to court documents.

The weapons charge stems from an incident at the Butler County Government Center on West Diamond Street, Butler, on Jan. 5, where the Butler County Sheriff's Office said McCune was found with a set of brass knuckles after the X-ray machine in the lobby detected the metal knuckles in her purse.
