A Butler County judge gave attorneys for a woman charged in connection with a homicide more time to file pretrial motions in Butler County Court on Monday.

Judge Timothy McCune allowed the request for more time made by Public Defender Charles Nedz, who is representing Tiffany N. Hilliard, 30, of Butler.

Hilliard was charged with felony robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft, receiving stolen property, hindering apprehension, abuse of a corpse and conspiracy following the investigation into the killing of Gregory W. Bosko, 55, of Kittanning, which allegedly occurred in Lyndora during a drug deal gone wrong.

Hilliard's boyfriend, Joshua K. Greaves, 34, of Mercer, has been charged with homicide in that case.

Nedz said attorneys are “working toward a resolution” of Hilliard's case, but asked for the time extension for omnibus pretrial motions in case any issues arise while he is reviewing information turned over by the prosecution.

Assistant District Attorney Richard Bosco had no objection to the motion, which essentially stops the clock on the Pennsylvania Criminal Procedure Rule 600 issue, which states “except in cases in which the defendant is not entitled to release on bail as provided by law, no defendant shall be held in pretrial incarceration in excess of 180 days from the date on which the complaint is filed.”

In his court order, McCune said the time period involved “would not accrue during the pendency of this continuance” and gave 60 days for Nedz to file the pretrial motions. If not filed by then, another extension motion would be entertained, he said.

Nedz also asked that a status conference be scheduled in January, which McCune scheduled for Jan. 16.

Hilliard continues to be held on $500,000 bail in that case, as well as a combined $18,500 from three other cases and probation violation matters out of Lawrence and Mercer counties.

Police say Hilliard told investigators that Greaves slashed Bosko's throat during a drug deal in Lyndora, and the couple disposed of Bosko's body in a wooded area along Redbud Road.

Bosko's body was found April 1 in Concord Township, wrapped in a green blanket and with his throat cut.

Butler County Coroner William Young III ruled the death a homicide. He said the cause of death was “sharp trauma of the neck,” and that the man's throat had been slit “multiple times.”

County prosecutors have said they are seeking the death penalty against Greaves.

Greaves continues to be held in Butler County Prison without bail.
