A Butler man charged with two others with assaulting and robbing a woman pleaded guilty to assault in Butler County Court on Wednesday.

Anthony F. Perez, 41, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor simple assault before Judge Timothy McCune.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of time served to 18 months in Butler County Prison, restitution and a fine. He is scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 30, following the completion of a parole plan. He continues to be held in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 pending sentencing.

Perez was initially charged with felony conspiracy to aggravated assault following an incident on June 26 in Butler. The simple assault charge was later added and the felony charge will be dismissed as part of the plea.

Perez was charged alongside two women, Tiffany A. Crawford, 31, and Michelle L. Kaiser, 46, after the alleged assault of a 28-year-old woman on East Wayne Street.

Butler City police filed the charges after they say the three lured the woman to the East Wayne Street apartment and robbed her while Crawford held a machete to her throat.

The victim ended up at Butler Memorial Hospital with cuts to her neck and hand, and other injuries. She also had more than $200 stolen out of her bra, police said.

The three defendants fled but officers stopped their pickup truck moments later as part of an ongoing unrelated burglary investigation.

Both Kaiser and Perez were charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and Kaiser was also charged with criminal use of a communication facility. Kaiser continues to be held on $45,000 bail.

Crawford was charged with felony robbery, aggravated assault and related charges.

Crawford continues to be held on $100,000, and is set for jury selection today in this case, as well as an unrelated robbery case.

Kaiser awaits further court proceedings.
