A Butler man, charged with sexually assaulting two minors, pleaded guilty in Butler County Court on Tuesday.

Ronald Bombara, 50, entered the guilty plea through the use of two American Sign Language interpreters, to one consolidated count of felony unlawful contact with a minor and one consolidated count of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old before Judge Timothy McCune.

The plea agreement calls for a sentence of 1½ to 3 years in state prison followed by two years of probation. Bombara will also be subject to 25 years registration as a sexual offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

Bombara is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 18.

He was initially charged with felony aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, two counts each of felony unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, misdemeanor indecent assault and indecent exposure after an incident on Sept. 25, 2016 in Clay Township.

The affidavit of probable cause states that two minor victims under the age of 13 reported in a forensic interview with Butler County Alliance for Children on Oct. 4, 2016, that Bombara sexually assaulted them at his home.

The children reported that while on a trampoline at a relative's house, Bombara waived them down to his home by motioning with his hand, as he is deaf, and once inside, closed the door.

One victim then reported that he asked them to sit down, and motioned with his finger over his lip, as to say not to tell anyone.

He then waived one of the children over and pulled her pants down and lifted her shirt, before pulling his own pants down and sexually assaulting her.

The girl reported that she tried to stop him, but he pushed her hand away, the document states.

Bombara continues to be held in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail.
