PROSPECT — Three new people will be joining borough council next year.

Winning the four available seats Tuesday night were Republicans Bob Boice, Janet Boice, Nicholas Vaccarello and Todd Wilson.

Democrat William Marciniak, the current council president, came in fifth place, according to unofficial results posted Tuesday night by the county Bureau of Elections.

Bob Boice, an incumbent, won re-election, while his wife, Janet, will also join council. Each got 131 votes.

Reached by phone Tuesday night, Janet and Bob declined to comment on the election.

Vaccarello, who formerly served on council for 12 years, got 111 votes.

Vaccarello said Tuesday night that he can be controversial sometimes, but he believes he can help the borough deal with sewage and paving issues.

“It's kind of the mandate of the people. We have projects we started and we never carried them to fruition,” he said.

He also said he would like to see the borough renegotiate some agreements it has with Franklin Township and contribute more money to the fire department, library and other organizations.

Wilson could not be reached for comment. He received 134 votes unofficially.

Marciniak, the lone Democrat running, got 85 votes.

Council members Glen Gitzen and Sam Wagner also will be replaced by the newcomers.
