Young wrestlers stand out
Troy Ritson, 10, of Butler took second place in the 10-under/95-pound division at the Bethel Park Ted Gates Memorial Odd-Age novice wrestling tournament last weekend.
Numerous Butler elementary wrestlers placed in the end of year WAWA tournament, also last weekend at South Fayette High School.

CJ Singleton hit a 3-pointer for the lead and Nick Maher drained two free throws in the final second as Butler Catholic advanced to the Pittsburgh Diocesan Class A quarterfinals with a 38-35 win over St, Thomas More.
The Penn Christian Academy fifth-sixth grade team concluded its season with a 26-20 win over Trinity Christian in the Penn Christian Academy Tournament championship game.
The Lions' overall record was 12-4. Team members include Camryn Kozik, Nick Burlingham, Chase Depew, Kayden Vaughn, Thomas Kelley, Riley Gillis, Ian Lenhart, Asa Cameron, Jordan Galster, Keir Morris, Grant Rochkind, Hayden Turney and Alex Depew.

The Penn Christian Academy fifth-sixth grade team capped its season by defeating Eden 22-5 in the Eden Christian Academy Tournament title game.
The Lady Lions finished with a 17-1 record. Team members include Carlie Baker, Abigail Elston, Alyssa Magill, Corey Owens, Tori Stevenson, Julia Bianchin, Samantha Guess, Mackenzie Gumto, Sarah Peduzzi, Samantha Robb, Cadance Steele and Tori McClellan.
