Singer to perform benefit concertWARRENDALE — Chris Jamison, who placed second on NBC’s “The Voice” in season 7, will hold a benefit concert at 8 p.m. Oct. 6 at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille.Proceeds from the concert will benefit his aunt, Kelly Somerville, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010.Somerville is married with three children and is a clinical director at Butler Memorial Hospital. She needs to have a hematopoietic stem cell transplant to halt the progression of her disease, and is on a list for treatment in January.Many of Jamison’s relatives live in Butler County, and supported him during his televised competition.Doors will open at 6 p.m. Ticket prices are $20 in advance and $24 at the door. Tickets can be bought online at jergels.com.
Roads to be closed for paving, repairsOAKLAND TWP — Two roads will be closed in early October for paving and repairs, according to the township secretary.Old East Butler Road will be closed all day Oct. 1 for paving, and Kelly Road will be closed Oct. 3-7 for reconstruction and paving.
