SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Dayvon Valatin Williams, 20, of Duquesne, was charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and loitering and prowling at nighttime by state police.

According to police, Williams broke a window to get into the garage at 105 Weaver Lane in Slippery Rock Township at around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Williams also damaged a metal exterior door trying to enter the garage.

Police said Williams tried, but failed, to steal a dirt bike from the garage. He then broke into the house and stole numerous firearms, hunting bows with accessories and a black bag valued at more than $3,700, according to the police report.

He then fled.

Williams was later caught by the Homestead Police Department and found to be in possession of the stolen items with the exception of a .22 caliber rifle.

He is in Allegheny County Jail on unrelated firearms charges by the Homestead Police Department.
