CENTER TWP — A Butler teenager was hurt in a suspected drunken driving crash Saturday morning on Mercer Road, authorities said.

Hayden M. Kretzer, 18, was driving a Ford Ranger south in the 900 block of Mercer Road shortly before 11 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.

State police said the teen panicked and overcompensated while trying to regain control of the pickup. The truck spun out and rolled onto its roof, ending in a drainage ditch

Kretzer was able to get himself out of the truck. He suffered minor injuries, said Chief Nathan Wulff of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.

The truck was totaled and towed.

The road was shut down for about 20 minutes while debris was cleared. It was limited to one lane for about an hour following the accident.

Police said they suspect Kretzer was driving under the influence and charges are pending results of a blood test.
