Wrecker driver Chad McCall loads a motorcycle damaged in an accident on Route 8 in Penn Township at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. The cyclist, who police identified as John “Carter” Packett, 64, of Gibsonia, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital by LifeFlight with hip and leg injuries after his motorcycle hit a pickup truck that had pulled out from a business parking lot and turned left in front of his vehicle. The truck driver, who police identified as David Hackett of Renfrew, reportedly was not injured. UPMC officials said this morning they had no record of Packett being at the hospital.
