Faces, donations sought for muralEAST BRADY, Clarion County — The Trail Town Initiative Committee under the East Brady Area Development Corporation is raising money for a large wall mural at the East Brady Playground.The mural will promote East Brady and recreational opportunities that are available.The committee is looking for nine people willing to pledge $1,000 by Labor Day 2016 to have their faces painted as the boater, bicyclist, jogger, dog walker, paddle boarder, cross country skier, hunter or fisherman/woman of the mural. Other options also are available. You can also choose to sponsor an animal, such as a bird, dog, bear or deer.The nine people will need to collect pledges in the amount of $1,000 each by Oct. 31.The mural is tentatively planned to be finished by the spring of 2017. Gun-carry license event set at fire hall HARRISVILLE — Anyone wishing to apply or renew a license-to-carry permit may go the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department fire hall at 313 E. Mercer St. between 5 and 7 p.m. Sept. 16.Sheriff Mike Slupe’s office, Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel and the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department will host the event.
