CRANBERRY TWP — Firefighters were called to the Cranberry Mall Monday afternoon for a report of smoke in the Dress Barn.

Store manager Melanie Smith said the lights in the store shut off about 5:25 p.m. and employees then noticed an odor and a small amount of smoke. They called 911 and made sure all the customers got out safely.

No one was reported injured.

The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Department responded and determined that nothing in the building was burning.

Dress Barn’s neighbor Pool City also lost power and had to evacuate. Giant Eagle was unaffected and remained open for business.

Assisting Cranberry were the Marshall Township, Harmony and Adams fire departments, Cranberry police and Cranberry EMS.
