A 32 x 8 foot Bantam Jeep mural will be painted on an apartment building on West New Castle Street. Butler is credited as the home of the Jeep, designed and first built by American Austin Car Co. in 1940.

The Walldogs, a group of muralists from around the world, are coming to Butler July 27 through 31 to paint 10 murals on downtown buildings.

The murals will represent landmarks and icons from the city's past and will be on walls on businesses, an apartment building and a parking garage.

Here are two more of the murals that are planned. Other murals will be published in the Eagle before July 27.

The Walldogs are being brought to the city by the Butler County Historical Society.

Pioneer Cooper Cabin, an original Butler County homestead built in the 1800s, will be represented with a 24 x 8 foot mural on Pizza Joe's on Main Street.
