Firefighters clean up after a rollover accident Monday afternoon on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Cranberry Township. A Beaver County couple was taken to a hospital following the crash.

CRANBERRY TWP — A Beaver County couple was taken to a hospital Monday afternoon as a precautionary measure after their van rolled over on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The driver, Sandra Tooch, 68, and her husband, Larry Tooch, 66, both of Koppel, were westbound about 3 p.m. when the vehicle went onto the north berm and hit guard rails.

The van continued along the berm and hit a concrete barrier, causing the vehicle to roll over, landing on its tires, according to a news release from the Gibsonia barracks of the state police.

Police at the scene said a blow out of the left rear tire may have led to the crash.

Westbound traffic was restricted to one lane for less than an hour while the van was towed away.

The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company responded to help clean up debris.
