HARRISVILLE — The Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania’s 8th State House District will talk Thursday at the Harrisville Community Park.

Judy Hines will be at the park at 5:30 p.m. for an event that includes a light picnic. It is being hosted by Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel.

She plans to speak about education, employment, the region’s opioid epidemic, and compromise in legislation at the state level.

Hines said the free event also is to give her a chance to meet with people and hear their concerns.

She is running against state Rep. Ted Nesbitt of Grove City in the Nov. 8 election.
