Co. mixes it up even more
ZELIENOPLE — J.J. Kennedy Inc., a ready-mix concrete production company, has added a second mixing truck for charity drive promotions.
The truck, “Mixing It Up for Autism” aims to raise money for the Autism Society.
Company representative Jacqueline Hill said the driver of the truck has a son who has autism. Along with that, one of the company owner's nephews has the condition.
“Those two and I have worked with autistic children in the past,” Hill said. “This is something we wanted to contribute to.”
The green truck has the autism ribbon and puzzle pieces all over the mixer. It is not known exactly how much money for every yard hauled will be donated.
The company also has a truck with ribbons painted on it in honor of families of cancer patients and victims. The initiative started last year has raised more than $3,500 for the American Cancer Society.
The company donates $1 for every yard hauled with the “Mixing It Up for a Cure” truck.
