Firefighters investigated a suspected lightning strike Thursday night at a house on Dawson Avenue. Assistant fire chief Larry Clutter said the homeowner reported seeing a flash of light from lightning from inside the house around 6:30 p.m. No one was injured. Firefighters used thermal cameras to check the attic, walls of the house and roof for burning, but did not find any obvious signs of damage. A surge tripped the circuit breaker for the house, shutting off the electricity, and also damaged the garage-door opener of the house next door, Clutter said.
