EAST BRADY — A Butler artist will paint portraits to create a wall mural at the corner of Kelly’s Way and Brady Street in East Brady.

The mural, which is being sponsored by the Trail Town Initiative Committee, will be painted next spring, and is themed “East Brady — Playground of The Allegheny.” It will be painted by Paul Means.

The slogan was previously used to promote the area’s abundant outdoor recreation opportunities, said Toni Henry of the East Brady Area Development Corporation, and organizers are trying to raise money for the project by asking people interested in having their faces included on the mural to donate.

The mural will include people hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, paddleboarding, canoeing, jet skiing, cross-country skiing, jogging, riding motorcycles and more.

Each person who commits to having his face included in the mural must raise $1,000 in pledges. For a donation of $200, people can sponsor a picture of bald eagle, dog, deer, bear, bluebird and other animals.

The campaign runs through Oct. 31

Those who donate to the project will have their names on a plaque on the mural wall.
