Lewis Morris
Lewis “Lew” Morris, 71, formerly of Hooker, passed away May 7.
He was born March 27, 1945, in Butler to Isaac “Bud” Morris and Janet Tebay Thompson.
Lew lived on a farm near Hooker and graduated in 1963 from Moniteau High School in West Sunbury. In that same year, Lew married Linda Bryan also of Hooker. They were married for 36 years and had two daughters. He attended Temple University.
Over the years, Lew was a draftsman, a logger, a gold miner, a co-owner and manager of Birdseye saw mill and the owner and manager of the Gates Slate Quarry in Helena, Mont.
Lew was preceded in death by his father, Bud; and his stepfather, Willis Thompson.
He is survived by his mother, Janet of Karns City; his daughters, Terrie Kolker and her husband, Rick, of Chandler, Ariz., and Tracy Kemp and her husband, Christian of Fishers, Ind.; his brother, Bob Morris and his wife, Donna of Helena, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
